Heritage had a compelling distributed generation platform — solar, battery, and licensed retail operations across ERCOT. The technology worked. The structure needed to be financeable. Hudson served as exclusive advisor, designed the capital structure, and closed a $28.5M senior secured financing under year-end deadline pressure. Hudson founded SolSource after identifying the need for a new residential solar product: one that could monetize tax credits and IRA adders while still giving homeowners a clear path to ownership. Hudson built the company, product structure, pricing strategy, capital stack, and go-to-market plan. Hudson also assembled the partner ecosystem around the platform, including leading industry manufacturers and distributors, legal and tax counsel, tax-credit buyers, appraisal support, ITC insurance, and validation infrastructure.
The result is a Hudson-created platform designed for the post-IRA residential solar market: tax-credit-driven, institutionally structured, and built around homeowner ownership.
